Celebrate Holi, the festival of colors with Apple Gujiyas. This delicious fusion recipe is packed with the goodness of apples.

Ingredients
For the dough
2cupsall-purpose flour
2tbspsemolina
1/2tspsalt
3tbspghee
For the stuffing
2apples
2tbsppowdered sugar
4tbspdesiccated coconut
2tbspchopped nuts of your choice
1/2tspcardamom powder
1tspcinnamon powder
1/2tspsalt
2tbspoil
Oil for deep frying
Instructions
Prepare the dough by mixing together flour, semolina, salt and ghee. Rub the ghee in until you get a breadcrumb consistency.
Knead it into a tight dough using water. Allow it to rest for 15-20 minutes.
Heat oil in a pan. Add in the finely chopped apples and cook for a minute. Make sure they do not sweat.
Add in the powdered sugar, cinnamon powder, cardamom powder, chopped nuts, and salt. Mix well. Turn off the heat and let it cool.
Once it is cooled, add in the dessicated coconut and mix well.
Shape the dough into small balls. Roll them out 3 to 4 inches in diameter. Add in a tablespoon of the apple mixture. Apply water on the edges. Fold it over and crimp the edges. You can also use a gujiya mould.
Deep fry the gujiya on low heat until they colorize. If you fry them on high heat, they would not be crisp and will have blistered skin.
The Apple Gujiyas are ready to serve. Brush them with honey for added flavor.
