Ingredients
3apples (approx 400 gms)
1cupsugar
1tspcumin seeds (jeera)
1tspfennel seeds (saunf)
4tbspginger garlic paste
1tspKashmiri red chilli powder
1tspsalt
1 1/2tspcumin powder
1 1/2tspfennel powder
1/2tspblack pepper powder
1tspgaram masala
1/2cupvinegar
1tbspoil
Instructions
Peel and core the apples and coarsely grind them. Do this just before you start cooking or the apples will oxidize and turn brown.
Heat oil in a pan. Add in the cumin seeds and fennel seeds and allow them to crackle.
Add in the ginger garlic paste and cook for a minute or two.
Add in the coarsely ground apples and the sugar. Mix well. Cook on medium heat until the sugar dissolves.
Add in the salt, Kashmiri red chili powder, cumin powder, fennel powder, and black pepper powder. Mix well and cook until the apples soften.
Add in the vinegar and the garam masala. Cook until the liquid dries up and it is a chutney consistency.
The sweet and spicy apple chutney is ready to serve. Enjoy with parathas or just a slice of bread.
