Apple Gujiyas

Celebrate Holi, the festival of colors with Apple Gujiyas. This delicious fusion recipe is packed with the goodness of apples.
Ingredients
For the dough
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tbsp semolina
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 3 tbsp ghee
For the stuffing
- 2 apples
- 2 tbsp powdered sugar
- 4 tbsp desiccated coconut
- 2 tbsp chopped nuts of your choice
- 1/2 tsp cardamom powder
- 1 tsp cinnamon powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp oil
- Oil for deep frying
Instructions
- Once it is cooled, add in the dessicated coconut and mix well.
- Shape the dough into small balls. Roll them out 3 to 4 inches in diameter. Add in a tablespoon of the apple mixture. Apply water on the edges. Fold it over and crimp the edges. You can also use a gujiya mould.
- Deep fry the gujiya on low heat until they colorize. If you fry them on high heat, they would not be crisp and will have blistered skin.
