Ingredients

  • 250 gms boneless chicken breasts

For the marinade

  • 1 tsp honey
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda

For the sauce

  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 4-5 cloves of garlic finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • 1/4 tsp red chilli flakes
  • 1/8 tsp crushed black peppercorns

Instructions

  • To begin, pound the chicken breasts with a mallet so that they cook evenly. Cut them into two depending on the size.
  • Marinate the chicken with honey, soy sauce, balsamic vinegar, and ginger garlic paste. Add in the baking soda. It helps tenderize the chicken. Mix well and leave it to marinate for at least half an hour.
  • In the meantime, prepare the sauce mixture. In a bowl, mix together 1 tbsp olive oil, honey, chopped garlic, soy sauce, balsamic vinegar, crushed black pepper, and chilli flakes. Mix well and keep aside.
  • Heat 2 tbsp of olive oil in a pan. Add the marinated chicken pieces on high heat.  Mix the left-over marinade with the sauce mixture. Lower the heat and cook on medium heat until the chicken is cooked. Remove and keep aside.
  • To prepare the sauce, in the same pan, add the sauce mixture and bring to a boil. Cook until the sauce thickens a bit.
  • Add in the chicken pieces and mix. Cook until they soak in the sauce and are well coated.
  • The Balsamic Honey Chicken is ready to serve. Garnish with parsley and Serve hot.
