Ingredients
- 6 slices white bread
- Oil for deep frying
For the stuffing
- 2 tbsp oil
- 1/2 tsp cumin seeds (jeera)
- 1/2 tsp crushed coriander seeds (dhania)
- 1/2 tsp fennel seeds (saunf)
- 1/8 tsp asafoetida (hing)
- 1 cup chopped onions
- 1-2 finely chopped green chillies
- 1 tsp finely chopped ginger
- 1 tsp salt or to taste
- 1/2 tsp Kashmiri red chilli powder
- 1/4 tsp turmeric powder (haldi)
- 1/2 tsp coriander powder (dhania)
- 1/2 tsp amchoor powder (ground mango powder)
- 1/2 tsp garam masala powder
- 1 1/2 tbsp gram flour (besan)
- 2 tbsp chopped green coriander leaves
Instructions
- To begin, prepare the stuffing. Heat 2 tbsp of oil in a pan. Add cumin seeds (jeera), crushed coriander seeds (dhania), fennel seeds (saunf), and asafoetida (hing). Allow them to crackle.
- Next, add in chopped onions, finely chopped green chillies and ginger. Saute until the onions are translucent.
- Now add in the dry masalas – salt, Kashmiri red chilli powder, turmeric powder (haldi), coriander powder, amchoor (dry mango) powder, and garam masala powder. Saute for a minute.
- Add in gram flour (besan) and saute until you can smell the nutty aroma.
- Turn off the heat. Add in chopped green coriander leaves. Mix well. Transfer to a bowl and allow it to cool completely.
- Take white bread slices. Remove the edges. Dip each slice in water and press gently to remove excess water.
- Place the slice on a flat surface. Add a tablespoon of the stuffing. Bring in the edges and shape into a kachori. Prepare the other kachoris similarly.
- Heat oil for deep frying. Add in the kachoris in batches knotted side down on medium to low heat. Allow them to reach the surface before flipping them over. Fry until golden.
- The Crispy Onion Bread Kachoris are ready to serve. Serve with fried green chillies and chutneys of your choice.

My kids are bread lovers. I have always tried to make various bread delicacies for them like bread pockets. But never tried a kachori. The recipe is so easy that I am trying it today itself,

Such recipes are winners for any chai party snack choice. Bread is something which comes frequently at my home so this is something I can surely go for and my husband will just love it. Mostly I say this that my hubby will love it as he is more foodie than me and I am a choosy foodie but love foods of all varieties. But this time I will look for some recipes of baby food as my son is more choosier than me and I find myself sometimes hopeless to decide what to serve him. I will look forward for such recipes from you mam.

Crispy Onion Bread Kachori holds a special place in my heart – it’s not just a snack; it’s a cherished memory. Whenever my mom used to prepare these for my tiffin, I couldn’t wait to open my lunchbox. The irresistible aroma and the satisfying crunch of these kachoris were a source of pure delight. The crispy, golden exterior gives way to a burst of savory onion filling that’s both comforting and flavorful. It’s not just a snack; it’s a taste of home and a reminder of the love and care that went into preparing it. Even now, every bite takes me back to those school days, and I can’t help but smile. My younger one adores this kachodi, but it’s not a favorite for the elder one.

It is something like bread roll. But the game is stuffing. I like your Stuffing masala. Honestly it will taste awesome. Will try because my family didn’t like bread roll at all. So this bread kachori will definitely in my meal plan.

I am very much enchanted by the notion of crispy onion bread kachori! The blending of bread’s delicate flaky feel with rich onion positions it as a brilliant invention. Sauteing onions these days hardly gets better than this because they bring out their sweetness and create a delectable contrast with its hard crust. In addition, it may serve as a starter or snack for tea time. A sour chutney or yoghurt dip could help bring out its gastronomic potential!
