Crispy Spicy Chicken Popcorns

Crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The Crispy Spicy Chicken Popcorns are the perfect snack for movie nights or just about any time. Try this super easy fusion recipe of the simply irresistible chicken bites.

Ingredients

  • 250-300 gms boneless chicken breast
  • Oil for deep frying

Marinade

  • 2 tbsp ginger garlic paste
  • 1 tbsp curd
  • 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar/white vinegar
  • 2 tbsp cumin powder (jeera)
  • 2 tbsp coriander powder (dhania)
  • 1 tsp salt or to taste
  • 1 tsp Kashmiri red chilli powder
  • 2 tsp chilli sauce
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper powder
  • 1 egg

For dredging

  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup rice flour
  • 1/4 cup cornflour
  • 1 tsp salt or to taste
  • 1 tsp Kashmiri red chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder

Instructions

  • To begin, cut the boneless chicken breast into small bite-sized pieces.
  • Marinate with ginger garlic paste, curd, cumin powder, coriander powder, salt, Kashmiri red chilli powder, chilli sauce, black pepper powder, vinegar, and egg. Mix well and leave it to marinate for at least half an hour.
  • For dredging, in a large bowl, mix together all-purpose flour, rice flour, and cornflour. Season it with salt and Kashmiri red chilli. Add in the baking powder. Mix well.
  • Now transfer the marinated chicken pieces into the flour mixture. Mix until the pieces are well coated. Remove the pieces to a plate and dust off the excess flour.
  • Heat oil for deep frying. Fry the chicken pieces on medium heat until golden brown. For extra crispness, flash fry the pieces again before serving.
  • The Crispy Spicy Chicken Popcorns are ready to serve. Enjoy them with ketchup or your favorite dip.
