Cumin Coriander Rice
A quick and easy rice recipe with subtle flavors. Elevate the ever-popular jeera rice with an age-old family favorite – the Cumin Coriander Rice.
Ingredients
- 2 cups pre-boiled rice
- 1 tbsp oil
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 tbsp cumin seeds (jeera)
- 1 tbsp finely chopped garlic
- 1-2 green chillies finely chopped
- 1/4 tsp red chilli flakes
- 1 tbsp vinegar
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 cup chopped coriander leaves
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- To begin, heat 1 tbsp oil in a pan. Add in a bay leaf and the cumin seeds and allow them to crackle.
- Next, add in the chopped garlic along with the chopped green chillies. Cook for a minute. Do not brown the garlic.
- Add in the boiled rice that is seasoned with salt. Mix gently. Cook for a few minutes until the rice heats up.
- Turn off the heat. Add in the chopped coriander leaves and the lemon juice. Mix well. Check the salt and add more if required.
- Add in the red chilli flakes and vinegar. Mix.
- Turn off the heat. Add in the chopped coriander leaves and the lemon juice. Mix well. Check the salt and add more if required.
- The Cumin Coriander Rice is ready to serve. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and lemon wedges.
Notes
- This recipe works perfectly with leftover boiled rice too.
