Looking for a nutritious and tasty snack? Packed full of oats, sunflower seeds, and dried fruits, the nut-free muesli bars provide the perfect balance between health and flavor.
Ingredients
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 1/2 cup dried fruits (strawberries, cranberries, blueberries, and goji berries)
- 1/2 cup sunflower seeds
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla essence
Instructions
- To begin, in a large bowl, mix together rolled oats, dried fruits, and sunflower seeds. Keep aside.
- Grease a baking dish or line it with parchment paper. I have used an 8"x8" square dish.
- Melt butter, honey, and sugar in a pan over medium heat. Add in vanilla essence. Simmer for 1-2 minutes,
- Pour this mixture over the dry ingredients and mix until well combined.
- Now, spread this mixture into the greased/lined dish. Flatten and press it down firmly with a spatula to ensure the bars stick together.
- Refrigerate for 2-3 hours until set. Remove from the dish and slice it into bars.
- The nut-free muesli bars are ready to enjoy.
Notes
- My kitchen is a nut-free kitchen. If you want to add nuts to the muesli bars, reduce the quantity of the other ingredients accordingly. The mixture should amount to two cups.

Easy, nutritious and yummy! I must make this, as I need to get out of eating biscuits and rusks. They are so tempting but not good for me. This bar suits the calorie count too.

I love it! Since my family has no nut allergy, I think it should be OK to add some just to increase the nutrition quotient. My daughter keeps asking me to make these bars to carry for snacking, this recipe is just in time for making that.

Aunty I love this healthy recipe. I would add a few different types of nuts too, as I love to eat nuts for their taste and crunch. Thanks for such an easy, pissy, healthy recipe. Can you tell me how many days we can keep these bars for eating?

wow such a simple and easy recipe! Even non cooks like me should be able to do this! I am assuming that it would be okay to substitute brown sugar with jaggery powder?
