Sizzling Seafood Platter

There is nothing quite as mouth-watering as a sizzler. Try out this sizzler recipe that is just as easy to make at home. The perfect dish for seafood lovers.

Ingredients

Fried Rice

  • 1 1/2 cup boiled rice
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 1/2 tsp chopped garlic
  • 1 tbsp finely chopped carrots
  • 1 tbsp finely chopped beans
  • 1 tbsp chopped spring onion greens
  • 1 tbsp boiled sweet corn
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp herb of your choice

Grilled Vegetables

  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp chopped garlic
  • 8-10 pieces of carrots cut into batons
  • 3-4 broccoli florets
  • 2 tbsp green peas
  • 1/2 cup bell peppers cut into half-inch squares
  • 1 tsp herb of your choice
  • 1 tsp light soy sauce

Grilled Fish

  • 200 gms boneless fish cut into 2” square pieces
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp chopped garlic

Grilled Prawns in Tomato Sauce

  • 200 gms medium prawns
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp Teriyaki sauce
  • 1/2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp chopped garlic
  • 1 tbsp finely chopped onions
  • 1 tbsp finely chopped capsicum
  • 2 tbsp tomato puree
  • 2 tbsp tomato sauce

Sauce

  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp chopped garlic
  • 1 tbsp chopped ginger
  • 2 tbsp chopped onions
  • 1 tbsp chopped capsicum
  • 1 tbsp Teriyaki sauce
  • 2 tbsp tomato puree
  • 2 tbsp tomato sauce

For Garnish

  • 8-10 French fries
  • 1 tbsp chopped spring onion greens
  • 3-4 leaves of cabbage
  • 1 tbsp unmelted butter

Instructions

Fried Rice

  • To prepare the Fried Rice, heat 1 tbsp of olive oil in a pan. Add the chopped garlic and saute until it colorizes.
  • Add in the mixed vegetables and cook for a minute or two. Do not overcook.
  • Add the salt and the seasoning. The Chinese seasoning works best for this recipe. Mix.
  • Add in the rice and mix well. Check the salt and add more if required. Remove and keep it aside.

Grilled Vegetables

  • For the Grilled Vegetables, blanch the carrots, broccoli florets, and peas in salted water. Remove them into iced water so that they retain their color and bite.
  • Using the same pan you cooked the rice in, heat 1 tbsp of olive oil. Add in the chopped garlic and saute until it colorizes.
  • Add in the vegetables. Cook for a minute or two. Make sure you don’t overcook.
  • Add the light soy sauce and the herb of your choice. Make sure it is the same as the one you used for the rice. Mix well. Remove and keep aside.

Grilled Fish

  • For the Grilled Fish, marinate the fish with the salt and the lemon juice. Leave it to marinate for 10 minutes.
  • Heat 2 tbsp olive oil in a pan. Add in the chopped garlic and saute until it changes color.
  • Add in the fish pieces. Cook until done and light golden in color. Remove and keep aside.

Grilled Prawns in Tomato Sauce

  • For Grilled Prawns in Tomato Sauce, marinate the prawns with the Teriyaki sauce and lemon juice. Leave it to marinate for 5-10 minutes.
  • Using the same pan and oil you prepared the fish in, add another tablespoon of oil. Add the prawns and grill until almost cooked.
  • Add in the chopped garlic, onions and capsium and cook until translucent.
  • Add in the Teriyaki sauce, tomato puree, and the tomato sauce. Mix until the prawns are well coated. You can add a bit of water if required. Check the salt and add more if needed. Remove and keep aside.

Sauce

  • To prepare the Sauce, again use the same pan you prepared the prawns in. Add in the olive oil and the butter.
  • Add the chopped garlic and ginger and saute until they change color. Next add the onions and cook until translucent.
  • Add in the Teriyaki sauce, tomato puree and tomato sauce. Next add the capsicum and the green chillies. Saute until the sauce is cooked. Remove and keep aside.

Assembling the Sizzler Platter

  • To assemble the sizzler, heat the sizzler plate until red hot.
  • Move it to its tray. Quickly arrange the cabbage leaves covering the base of the plate.
  • Add the rice and top it with the prawns. Arrange the fish, vegetables and the french fries as per your choice. Make sure you leave some empty spaces for the sauce.
  • Add the sauce to get that sizzle. And finish with small chunks of butter to those empty spaces for more sizzle. Garnish with chopped spring onion greens.
  • The Sizzling Seafood Platter is ready to serve.
